Mr. Frandzel was the Firm's founder. He earned his B.S. from the University of California at Los Angeles and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California. His practice emphasized commercial litigation, creditors' rights and remedies, lender liability, and loan workouts involving real and personal property collateral.

He was a frequent lecturer for the California Bankers Association (which awards the "Robert D. Frandzel Award" to outside counsel for outstanding service to the banking industry), Continuing Education of the Bar, Robert Morris & Associates, Western League of Savings Institutions, Independent Bankers Association, and Western Independent Bankers Association (for whom he served as general counsel) on documentation, continuing guaranties, mixed collateral, lender liability, waivers of collateral, judicial foreclosure, and numerous other topics.

He served as President of the California Young Lawyers Association, President of the Beverly Hills Barristers, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Foundation. Mr. Frandzel's considerable community activities included Friends of Child Advocates (president, 1991-93), Jewish Big Brothers, and the Union Rescue Mission. The Firm continues to actively support and participate in the work of these charitable organizations.
