Mr. Welin's practice emphasizes creditors' rights in the areas of commercial, real estate and bankruptcy litigation, as well as real estate finance and workouts of problem credits.

Mr. Welin is a member of the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association, the Mortgage Bankers' Association, the Receivership Forum, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the State Bar of California and the Board of Counselors for the University of Southern California. He has lectured throughout the country to the Firm's clients and for various professional organizations, including the MBA Commercial and Multifamily Mortgage Administration Conference and the National Business Institute, on a variety of issues concerning creditors' rights.

Mr. Welin was born in Long Beach, California in 1963. In 1985 he earned his B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California School of Business (emphasis on finance and economics), Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Golden Key, and he earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California School of Law in 1988. He was admitted to practice in California in 1988.
